The New Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40

Last week I was given the opportunity to attend a #GracoSafety event hosted by the lovely BabyElan {daily} in Charlotte, NC. Having a newborn and toddler at home it was a great treat for me to be able to get out of the house, hang out with other awesome local bloggers, and learn about Graco’s newest car seat: the SnugRide Click Connect 40.

Graco has really focused on safety with this new seat.

  • It is the only seat on the market that allows your child to remain rear facing from infancy to 2 years old; it has a weight limit of 4-40lbs and a height limit of 35 inches. This is pretty great considering the American Academy of Pediatrics has said that “toddlers are more than 5 times safer riding rear facing” and “should stay rear facing until 2 years of age.” I love this because I want to keep Tripp rear facing as long as possible and it’s a great cost advantage to not have to purchase a separate seat after he outgrows his infant seat like we did with my daughter.
  • With a growing toddler in mind, Graco redesigned the base to slide into 8 reclining positions allowing extra legroom and added a kick plate/foot rest to protect your seat from dirty little feet. The picture below shows these features in action.

  • Another favorite feature of mine on this car seat is the Simply Safe Adjust™ harness systems that allows parents to adjust the harness and headrest with just one hand to fit their baby’s height as their baby grows, all without having to rethread the harness. I’ve already had to adjust Tripp’s carseat once and he’s only 3 weeks old. If you have any other car seat that requires you to completely rethread the straps each time your child grows a few inches then you can certainly relate to my excitement for this feature!

So, do you love it as much as I do? Check it out for yourself in store – It is currently exclusive to Babies ‘R Us and retails for $219.99.

The Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 – the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that actually grows with your baby from four pounds all the way up to 40 pounds. The car seat is designed for a parent on the go. The infant car seat can be easily removed from the base and used as a carrier when the infant is small, providing portability and convenience so you can easily move your infant in and out of the car without disturbing them.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2. Graco set out to make this product so parents can keep infants rear facing longer while still keeping them comfortable.

A CC Family Update + New Addition!

{Izzy with her baby brother, Tripp, taken by the lovely Elizabeth Sweet – visit her website + facebook}

So perhaps you have noticed that I’ve been a little MIA lately? I apologize for leaving y’all hanging … I’ve been busy around here. Here’s a quick rundown of what has been going on in the CC world.

  • I almost completely stopped couponing *gasp* — no, seriously! Thankfully, we had enough food in our pantry & freezers that we rarely grocery shop. We were fully stocked with meat, bread, and milk in our freezers & our garden was flourishing with summer vegetables. The only thing we really needed to shop for was fresh fruit.
  • My husband quit his job and started his own law practice. This has been a very stressful and time-consuming venture, but it was an excellent opportunity for our family that we could not pass up. I am now working full time in the office with my two children. Two you ask? Oh yeah, on to my next topic…
  • If you will remember we were expecting our second child in late September. I am happy to report that I delivered a healthy baby boy on September 29th. He was 9lb. 2oz. and 21 inches long, born all natural and medication free! (yay me!) This lovely new addition will go by the name of Tripp.

Well there you have it, that’s the gist of what’s been going on in our crazy world while I’ve been playing hookey. I hope you are still tuning in. I have lots of fun things in store — such as: a new way to organize your coupons that is less time consuming than the binder method, great new recipes, new product reviews (testing out all kinds of baby stuff!), some giveaways, and of course money-saving tips, coupons, and freebies!

What type of posts would you like to see on Carolina Couponer? I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to leave a comment, reach me via email ashley(at)carolinacouponer.com or join our online Facebook community.

Amazing Coupons.com Tip!!

Ok, who else is impatient as can be when printing coupons from Coupons.com and you have to click “show more coupons” ..wait forever for more to load …click “show more coupons again”.. OMG, by the 3rd time I feel like I’ll die of old age before I get all possible coupons loaded. This is especially annoying if you have to get to the bottom of the list to print a coupon that you have already printed. WELL, if this sounds like you, I have a tip!!

Click the “Show More Coupons” button at the bottom of the first page of coupons – and then tap your space bar 10 or so times.  Now watch, as every page of coupons just lines up there before your eyes – YEAH!!!

Head over to Coupons.com and try it! Let me know if it works for you, I’m running the latest version of Firefox and it worked for me! Go ahead, admit it, it’s awesome … Click the share button!
